big brother (wednesday, thursday, sunday), friday night lights (friday), the real world (wednesday), top chef (wednesday), hell’s kitchen (tuesday) and deadliest catch (tuesday). those are my must-sees. i’m also trying to get caught up on true blood (sunday), but i’m still stuck in the second season.

big brother is still warming up, friday night lights is losing characters, the real world a has horrible cast this season, top chef is decent, hell’s kitchen is alright and deadliest catch is having some its the best episodes yet (r.i.p. cpt. phil harris!). anyway, it’s all a little mixed. i love these shows, but i can’t wait for a few certain fall premieres…who’s with me?

gossip girl—monday sept 13 @ 9pm

i’ve definitely lost some interest in the show. mostly when they focus on boring jenny storylines, but now that’s she gone for a while, chuck is back to his old ways and nate is more a central character, i just have to tune in.

one tree hill—tuesday sept 14 @ 8pm (NOT HAPPY ABOUT DAY SWITCH!!!)

i don’t care what you people say. i know one tree hill isn’t what it used to be and i know certain people despise this show (pointing at you mr. ausiello! even though i <3 you), but to me, it’s still a must-see. i’ve been watching this show forever. it’s like dawson’s creek. it sucked near the end, but you still had to watch to see how it ends. and it’s pretty much a done deal after this season, which should be surprisingly good since brooke and julian are engaged, nate and haley are pregnant, and clay and quinn got shot. hail to all the haters. and thanks cw for moving the time slot to compete with GLEE. dumbasses. this show gets more ratings than your precious gossip girl, you know?

glee–tuesday sept 21@ 8 pm

do i really need to justify my excitement with this one? i’m stoked for the whole finn/rachel storyline and the drama that will ensue after the “losing his virginity to santana” bomb is dropped. not to mention all the new gleeks—including the lovely charice.

the office—thursday sept 23 @ 9pm

this is steve carrell’s last season (aka the show is probably going to suck). michael scott better go out with a bang, that’s all i got to say.

grey’s anatomy—thursday sept 23 @ 9 pm

another show that has fallen down to my “whenever i have time” lineup of shows. that is, until the season finale BLOWOUT. i just have to tune in after seeing probably the best grey’s episode to-date.

ps. when the hell is manhunters (A&E) getting new episodes?!? i’m getting impatient….and i’m a dork.

so, i’ll be honest here. i haven’t watched grey’s anatomy in months. it used to be a must-watch for me. dvr’ed every thursday. the show’s seasons 2 and 3 were the prime of the show. where every episode had me hooked. but these last few years as the show lost main characters (katherine heigl, t.r. knight etc) i lost interest. don’t get me wrong, there were some decent episodes here and there. george being john doe last year blew me away. but i wasn’t thrilled about the newer characters and i just didn’t feel compelled to watch the show i once called a favorite.

well, thursday’s finale proved me completely wrong. even though i haven’t watched since izzie left, i figured i’d watch the finale, which ausiello (yes, i am a diehard entertainment weekly nerd…no seriously i wait for it in the mail every wed) was deeming epic. and it was.

i spent the entire two hours balling. oh and ps. you might want to stop reading if you didn’t watch it yet. i watched it online about 2 hours after it aired and already had it spoiled a bit. i was stupid enough to go on twitter where my equally-obsessed-about-tv friends were tweeting away about who got shot. my fault.

i won’t go over the entire plot, but i will say this: ellen pompeo, chandra wilson, sandra oh and maybe even mandy moore deserve emmy nods. pompeo had me crying the worst. between the miscarriage and her pleading for the gunman to shoot her instead of derek, i was a wreck. sandra oh gave the absolute perfect amount of comedy in this otherwise crazy dramatic episode. not only was her comedic timing brilliant as usual, but her realization that she had to operate on derek herself and her panic when a gun was pointed at her head…all amazing. that’s why she is my favorite character. cristina is good in crisis and let’s face it, she saved mcdreamy. as for chandra who’s always an excellent actress, she was especially good this episode and i’ll tell you why. bailey is a tough cookie. she doesn’t cry often. she doesn’t panic often. she’s kinda like cristina in that way. but in the finale, we saw the more vulnerable and human side to the “nazi.” she admittedly called herself a coward for claiming she was a nurse to spare her life, but that was a bailey i liked seeing. as charles died in her arms and we watched her and mandy moore break down, i broke down myself. speaking of mandy moore, i was skeptical. she’s not the best actress in the world, but she proved throughout the episode that she can hold her own (and maybe that she should stick to more dramatic roles–a walk to remember anyone?). she was outstanding in her scenes with chandra.

anyway, if you haven’t seen it and i just spoiled it for you..watch it anyway. i didn’t mention everyone who gets shot. or some of the storylines i didn’t exactly like (cough cough lexie telling alex she loved him cough cough), because i’ll focus on the positive. there’s a lot of callie/arizona and mark/lexie stuff i skipped over so go watch it! click here if you’re lazy!

pam and jim. “the long-overdue wedding.”

obviously, my favorite wedding featured in probably one of the best episodes of television i’ve seen, ever. these two finally tie the knot in a perfectly awkward ceremony after years of subtle flirting and heartbreaking glances. with the cheesy wedding dance and the romantically adorable back-up plan, this truly was the perfect tv wedding.

peyton and lucas. “the happily-ever-after wedding.”

wow, did this couple go through every up and down possible over the course of 6 seasons. from love triangles and drama to bullet wounds and stalkers, these two have been through everything together. after years of torture and tears, they finally got their happily ever after.

derek and meredith. “the post-it wedding.”

ok, so it’s not the most traditional wedding, but when have these two ever gone with the crowd? it was strange. it was cute. it was meredith and mcdreamy’s not-so-official “i do’s” that had me reaching for the tissues.

izzie and alex. “the abruptly sweet wedding.”

i’ve been rooting for these two since day 1, but i admit i never thought i’d see them walk down the aisle so soon. after izzie’s cancer diagnosis, it was the sweet surprise nuptials that made this one of the most beautiful and saddest weddings ever.

lily and rufus. “the we-saw-it-coming wedding.”

ok, so who didn’t know these two were gonna end up together? young sweethearts torn apart by family pressures and being from “different worlds.” we’ve seen it all before. nevertheless, it was nice these two finally get together even if it’s 20 years too late.

5. eric and donna (that 70′s show)

high school sweethearts who started out as good friends. year after year, we watched as these two argued, wrestled (donna usually being victorious), fell in love, broke up, got engaged and moved away. through it all, we knew they were going to end up together. and sure enough, eric returned in the series finale to confess his love to donna as they rang in the new year together.

4. nathan and haley (or NALEY from one tree hill)

she was lucas’ best friend. he was lucas’ jackass of a half-brother. he played basketball and she liked to study. but from the first tutoring session it was clear they had chemistry. she changed him for the better and these two became the only tv couple who married twice before they were 17, gave birth to a son on graduation day and survived lies, car crashes, cheating, a concert tour, crazy nanny kidnappers and more recently a highly-publicized paternity scandal (which has yet to play out). naley is and has always been the rock of one tree hill. always and forever<3.

3. pacey and joey (dawson’s creek)

no one saw this coming. after all, it was called dawson’s creek. but after the whining and pining relationship we saw with dawson and joey, we needed a break. in came the self-deprecating and charming pacey. these two started off barely friends as they playfully bantered their way through a few seasons. after telling his best friend he would look after joey, pacey soon falls in love with her and they begin their amazingly perfect relationship. through all the drama surrounding the love triangle and the horrific plot lines of the last two seasons, the show will forever be remembered for pacey and joey.

2. ross and rachel (friends)

this shouldn’t come as a shocker. the nerdy paleontologist was in love with the not-so-bright but beautiful waitress for…well, forever. he even said her name at the alter while marrying someone else! they went through a lot over ten years and most of those years were spent just as friends. “we were on a break!” but, we always did cherish the moments they were together. they married. they got annulled. they had a baby. we know that these two were always destined to be more than just “friends.”

1. jim and pam (the office)

this was hard, trust me. BUT i had to go with jim and pam as my #1 tv couple. reason? well, i just thought about the couple i can’t bare to see apart. and that’s pb&j. the tiny moments and subtle flirting we endured for over three seasons kept us on the edge of our seat wondering when these two were ever going to get together. we cried when jim confessed his love for pam on casino night and felt the pain pam felt as she watched jim with someone else. it’s the couple everyone was rooting for and we finally got our wish. i mean, who doesn’t want their own jim halpert? anyway, now pam’s pregnant and these two are busy planning their wedding. seriously, THE perfect happy ending.

anyway, so much going on. i’m pissed i missed the teen choice awards. i had to work and missed out on the terrible wardrobe and the oh-so-hot zac efron. anyway, i did check in on the result and here are some of my thoughts..

choice hotties: zac and jessica alba.

def not surprising. and def deserving. both gorgeous. and zac was looking extra cute in that little vest that he often wears and totally pulls off. maybe even better than shia..(although justin pulls it off the best).

choice movie drama: step up 2.

um, is this a joke? granted i haven’t seen it. i don’t really see a dancing flick a choice drama? hmm. i was pulling for 21. gotta love jim sturgess.

choice movie actor: ashton kutcher.

come on! the adorable and hilarious michael cera def deserved that win. there is no way ashton’s movie was better than juno or superbad. not even possible. wtf he also lost choice breakout star. to drake bell. that kid from nickelodeon. or disney. or whatever.

choice tv drama: gossip girl.

granted this show is the definition of drama, it was definitely a hyped-up win. i mean, the ratings aren’t exactly great. it’s all about talk and hype. one tree hill or grey’s should have taken it. but i’ll give it to gossip girl, for a first season, it was a pretty good one. the breakout show award was deserved.

choice tv actress: blake lively.

while i love her (and her outfit!), i don’t think she’s the best actress in the world. def think hilarie should have taken that one. she was amazing this year. evidence here. or even katherine heigl. and her character was crazy annoying on this season of grey’s. blake also took home choice breakout star.

choice tv comedy actor: steve carell

no argument here. i love michael scott.

choice male artist: chris brown

what can i say? i love chris brown. justin or kanye would have been fine too.

as for the rest of the awards, meh. i don’t know, i don’t watch all that hannah montana stuff and in light of recent youtube vids and such, i’m not the biggest miley fan. i wish i would have watched the actual show though. i def would have had more to say. like about this outfit for example…

ps. why the HECK was jessica biel nominated for fashion icon? um, being on justin’s arm isn’t worthy of a nod. and she’s def not the better looking half of that equation either. no offense to her.

thankfully, it looks like ava/rebecca/whatever is out of the picture. her character went through some traumatic experiences and attempted suicide. she was basically a wreck and alex was trying to take care of her. we found out a lot about where alex comes from. when izzie tried to intervene and tell alex that the girl needs professional help, he freaked. he says that he has done this before and that he will do better with her, which makes us think that his mother had some kind of suicidal tendency or mental issues. with a druggie abusive father and that kind of implied relationship with his mother, it’s no wonder he acts the way he does sometimes. at the end, alex gives in to izzie’s request and gets ava help. and in a surprising moment, he kisses izzie, while crying. she tries to stop, but he pleads. he obviously wants to forget his problems for a little while. i want alex and izzie together, but these aren’t the circumstances that should make it happen. it was heartbreaking to watch, but so good.

i will officially say that justin chambers deserves an emmy nod for his performance. he sometimes gets put on the backburner for other storylines, but this episode proved that he needs to be a frontrunner. his acting was absolutely amazing.

as for merideth and derek, they got together. as expected. i must say that i found their final scene a little corny, but nonetheless something we were all hoping for. i kind of feel bad for the nurse chick. why do i feel like she is going to come back and hook up with mark? i don’t know…mark is lonely. he loses callie to erica, yes erica. that was the “big kiss” that shonda alluded to and i wasn’t suprised. we all saw it coming. and it should make for an interesting next season. though, i hope mark finds someone. my hope is that they cancel private practice and addison comes back for him! hey, i can dream.

george was also great in this episode. feeling under-appreciated, he turns to lexie who seems to be his new best friend. she breaks into the chief’s office and finds out that george only failed the intern exam by one point. one. so he stands up to the chief and surprisingly, is told he can take the exam over. it ends with a nice thank you kiss planted on lexie, which obviously means more to her than just gratitude. we’ll see where that goes.

as for bailey, looks like she is relinquishing some control so she can put her family back together. she gives izzie the clinic to run. while the chief moves back in with his wife. cristina got her mojo back, which was nice to see. i can’t stand anything more than seeing her be vulnerable. i like the hard, yet lovable cristina we all know.

as for the patient storylines, they were good. a kid stuck in cement? unrealistic but good. the cancerous couple were awfully sad as well. though, derek and merideth finally proved a medical discovery. good stuff if you ask me.

my only wishes for next season are…that merideth and derek stay together for a while (sick of the angst!), alex and izzie don’t jump together too soon (that spells distaster), lexie and george stay friends (why do we need him to sleep with EVERY girl on the show), mark finds love (preferably addison), bailey and the chief work out their family issues, ava is gone for good (please!), and finally, cristina gets promoted somehow. that’s not too much to ask, is it?

anyway, i saw made of honor last week and was pleasantly surprised. don’t get me wrong, it is completely cheesy, predictable and stretches the point of believability oftentimes, but to me, it’s just hard NOT to watch. i mean, mcdreamy is the star. and we have him playing the opposite of his faithful and sensitive doctor on grey’s. here, he plays the play-boy who has his own set of rules when it comes to dating. he doesn’t like to see a girl two nights in a row, for example, and doesn’t seem to be settling down anytime soon. basically, he gets to play a sexy bad boy who really isn’t all that bad. his best friend and secret love hannah is about to get married to this bruting scottish fellow who is sickeningly perfect, who i don’t really find attractive. but i digress. as you can imagine, dempsey’s character tries to win over his best friend and finally profess his love. happy ending blah blah blah.

don’t see this movie if you are searching for a cinematic masterpiece, because trust me, it isn’t. but, if you like to indulge in the occasional predictable romantic comedy every once in a while like me, go ahead and see it with your girlfriends (fyi: you might not want to bring a guy to this). my advice? wait till it comes out for rental. the cheesy yet lovable factor will still be there. just with a lower price tag.

so, the office was pretty good. not too much plot development, but a funny episode nonetheless. dwight and michael go to nyc to a club and meet up with ryan, who is surprisingly happy to see them. that is, because he is completely drugged by his weird friend. he spent the entire episode shaking and going crazy. it was definitely a side of ryan we’ve never seen. pretty funny. i predict he will be fired from corporate. he might be the rumored one leaving the show. toby, however, announced to the group that he was leaving to move to costa rica. not only that, but the season finale is titled, “goodbye toby.” i think he may just be a red herring for ryan’s departure. not sure, but i will cry if toby leaves. i love toby! it also better not be andy, i like him and wish he had some more lines lately.

now, for the rest of the dunder mifflin office workers, they spent the night locked inside the parking lot thanks to jim and pam. they weren’t the most popular in this episode, as you can imagine. so it was a lot of humor, and like i said, not too much plot development. we learned that ryan is a druggie and toby is leaving that’s about it. a scene with dwight making out with a hot girl in the club, and then later ditching her like he was too good for her was hilarious. definitely a decent episode. so excited about next week’s when pam stays over at jim’s house and apparently “has an unexpected inconvenience.” interesting. maybe she will find the ring?

as for grey’s, i only saw the last half, but was happy that it felt like the old grey’s. cristina was competitive, sloan was horny, izzy wasn’t annoying for once this season, and meredith and derek are back in their love limbo. i can feel some good stuff coming up. for one, next week’s previews show callie questioning someone who thinks that she and Hahn are a couple. i knew it. although, i still think that cristina and hahn are going to hook up. trust me. also, it seems ava is pregnant. ugh. is this girl really still around? just get rid of her already! i am praying that it’s not alex’s baby because if i have to see more ava, i will go insane. addison is back next week! she should just come back for good. PLEASE. looks like she and meredith will have an interesting conversation. seems she may be telling meredith to hold onto derek who is currently dating nurse rose. yawn.

but as for this episode’s happenings, george and lexie are living together (as friends…wonder how long that will last) in a crap apartment. cristina is jealous of callie and hahn’s friendship. izzie made a mistake with a patient. again. but at least she wasn’t pining after george. come on, when will her and alex get back together?!? as for meredith, she is obviously jealous of rose and thinks she is just derek’s rebound, which she is. sloan wants to bond with derek as single men, which derek isn’t. and apparently, as i read, sloan and callie will be back in the sack together soon. i kinda like them together actually. although the previews showed something about addison and sloan maybe sleeping together.

anyway, that wraps up my thursday tv update. i was going to watch lost, but i just don’t have any interest anymore. but, i mentioned in my last post that i am kinda getting into one tree hill, which i boycotted for the longest time. unofficially, of course. it’s not a terrible show. i’m not a big fan of chad michael murray at all, but he grew on me a bit. and i thought dawson’s creek, the oc and gossip girl were bad, but this show takes the cake. literally, every single character has slept or been in love with the other. crazy. but, unsurprisingly, hard to resist. also, it seems it’s the only teen drama that has survived past high school graduation. they were smart and skipped “the college years.”

ps. stop by target this week to pick up the office dvd’s for only 20 bucks! usually they are around $40!

1. grey’s anatomy (april 24)–no more “will they, won’t they” between mcdreamy and meredith. after this season’s drawn out conflict/awkwardness between the duo, we might actually see them happy. According to creater shonda rhimes, ‘the goal was not always to get them together at the end of the season, but that is my goal now.” finally. oh and addison is coming back! unfotunately, so is ava/rebecca. ugh.

2. the office (april 10)–i am most excited for this. obviously, we will see more pam and jim couple moments. but, there is a new couple alert-angela and andy. that’s right. she finally gives in to his advances and executive producer greg daniels says, “they’re going to be like a very old preppy couple from the get-go.” hm. they do share similar (bad) taste in clothing apparel. i’m assuming dwight won’t react well to all this. we will also see michael go clubbing, other employees who work in the building as well as dwight in court. can’t wait.

3. gossip girl (april 21)–drama! is all i can say. jenn, the new queen bee, will struggle with the position and even try to seduce nate. and get this, nate finds comfort in dan’s ex/bff vanessa. basically by the end of this show, everyone will have hooked up with everyone else on the show. isn’t that how it always ends up? apparently serena has more secrets to spill. personally, i want to see more blair and chuck. while i like serena and dan, the blair/chuck dynamic is the most intriguing on the show. also some nate/jenny hookup would be interesting to see. really, the best news is we won’t be seeing mischa as a guest star. that’s reason enough to celebrate.
